Appointments

The staff and providers at The Pediatric Clinic strive to accommodate the varying needs of all of our patients. Office appointments are triaged into three basic categories:

Non-Urgent – such as a yearly physical – may need to be scheduled months in advance

Semi-Urgent – such as chronic headaches, weight loss – may be scheduled within the next several days or

Urgent – will need to be seen the same day

Online Appointment Requests
Each provider has time slots each day for all appointment types. Please visit our online Patient Portal to submit your Appointment Request online. Do NOT use for urgent concerns as requests are reviewed just once daily.

Timely Appointments

It is important to communicate to the staff exactly what your child’s medical concerns are so that the most appropriate appointment slot may be scheduled. If you believe you or your child has an urgent medical need, you may be asked to speak with a nurse. All other types of visits, including annual physicals, weight checks, consultations and follow-ups can be scheduled in advance.

Length of Time of Your Appointment
At each visit, the provider is given the time to listen to you, examine your child, and review the medical diagnosis and plan with you. It is a balance between being available to see the patients in a timely manner and having the appropriate time while with the patient. When an appointment is made, be sure the staff knows if there will be more than one concern for the appointment. Your appointment time has been created for one child only. Should you have concerns about another child, a separate appointment may be needed.

Being On Time
We understand that your time is valuable. We will do our utmost to see your child on time. At times, the provider will run late due to unexpected emergencies and unforeseen urgent visits. Likewise, it is important for our patients to be on time. If you are late, patients will be worked into the schedule at the discretion of the provider. While calling the office to inform us is always appreciated, it does not guarantee that the doctor will be able to see you; alterations in visit time and provider may be necessary for urgent visits.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment time; this is necessary for us to update your insurance information so we will be able to properly file on your behalf.

Rescheduling
If you must cancel an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours advance notice; this allows us to make that time available to others. As appointments are made months in advance, occasionally vacation and conference schedules may require our office to change your appointment. We will make every effort to accommodate your schedule.

Phone Calls
Our phones are busiest in the early morning; be patient and try again in a few minutes. Nurse and doctor calls will be returned as patient care allows; this may be at lunch or after hours. Again, if you have an urgent concern, communicate that to the office staff. A truly non-urgent concern might be able to be addressed by requesting an appointment by visiting our online Patient Portal to submit your Appointment Request online or by emailing tpcappointments@ntinet.com.
